Consequent on the recent attack around Bund Road in Banjul on Zaglin Sambou, an oyster collector, the police PRO has revealed to The Point newspaper that Sulayman Ceesay, the alleged assailant presently under police custody, has been charged with assault causing grievous bodily harm. He however added that Mr. Ceesay is yet to be brought before the courts.

The police are of the belief that Sulayman Ceesay is presently pretending to be of unsound mind. He was reported to have once assaulted a senior police officer, prompting his admission at the Campama Psychiatric Hospital from where he was alleged to have escaped after three days.
