New Attorney General Appointed as Kebba Sanyang takes Works

President Yahya Jammeh, acting on the powers vested on him by the constitution of the Republic of The Gambia, yesterday appointed Marie Saine-Firdaus, as the Attorney General and Secretary of State for Justice.

Mrs Saine-Firdaus replaced Kebba Sanyang, who has been redeployed by the President to the Department of State for Works, Construction and Infrastructural Development.

According to a press release, President Jammeh acting on the powers conferred on him by Section 71 Sub-section 1 and Section 71 Sub-Section 3 of the Constitution of the Republic of The Gambia, has effected a cabinet resuffle with immediate effect from September 13, 2007. Mr Kebba Sanyang, Attorney General and Secretary of Stae for Justice has been reassigned to the Department of State for Works, Construction and Infrastructure as Secretary of State, while Marie Saine-Firdaus, a Technical Assistant at the Office of the President has been appointed as the Attorney General and Secretary of Stae for Justice. The rest of the resufflement will be announced today.
