The third annual Eda Carr Pre-season tournament, organised by the Banjul Sports Committee, which was slated for 27th December 2007, has been rescheduled for Thursday January 3rd 2008 at the Banjul Mini Stadium.

The Pre-season tournaments will feature Wallidan, Real De Banjul, Starlight, GPA, Hawks, GAMTEL, Young Africans, Armed Forces F C, Jollof Tutors and Interior F C.

Armed Forces will take on Hawks on Thursday in the opener while Friday’s match will see Real De Banjul taking on Starlight.

On Saturday Young Africans will meet Jollof Tutors. The GPA and Wallidan clash will be on Sunday. 

The tournament is named after the late Baboucar Bah alias Eda, who has played for Starlight FC for over 20 years and also on the national team. He was described as one of Gambia’s staunchest and one of the most reliable defenders of his generation.

The objective of the tournament is to raise funds for the welfare and upkeep of the little children whom Eda has left behind and to also assist the Banjul clubs in their preparation for the 2007/8 seasons.
