[endif]Two policemen, Omar Drammeh and Ebrima Mboob, were yesterday
arraigned before Principal Magistrate Edrissa Mbai of the Banjul Magistrates
Court, charged with official corruption contrary to Section 86 (a) of the
Criminal Code, Cap 10 Volume 3.
According to the particulars of the offence, on the 5th of
October, 2008, in Banjul
and other diverse places, while employed as servants of the Gambia Police Force
(GPF) and by virtue of that employment, they corruptly received, solicited or
obtained the sum of D1000, D1500 and D5000 from one Adama Chorr.
The two police officers pleaded not guilty. The magistrate
granted them bail in the sum of D10,000 and adjourned the case to 29th October,
2008, for continuation.
