The National Youth Parliament (NYP) will celebrate its sixth anniversary today, Friday the 7th of March in Banjul. The NYP of The Gambia is a registered national youth organisation with the National Youth Council under the 2000 National Youth Council.
It is also registered as a charity under the 1955 Companies Act at the Attorney General’s Chambers in The Gambia.
Speaking to The Point the Programme Officer of the NYP, Mr. Ousman Conteh, said the aims and objectives of the Parliament are to encourage and promote the welfare of the youth of The Gambia.
He revealed that the NYP, in collaboration with the Banjul Youth Parliament (BYP), has just opened a new youth development office in Banjul which will create opportunity for the youth of the area.
He finally hailed their partners for the positive contribution they have made towards the realisation of their dreams and aspirations.
He expressed optimism that the NYP will continue to contribute immensely towards the empowerment of the youth of The Gambia.
