New Apostolic Church donates to RVTH

The new Apostolic Church in The Gambia, through the Apostolic Church in Germany, yesterday donated two respiratory machines to the Royal Victoria Teaching Hospital, at a ceremony held at the RVTH conference hall in Banjul.

The church which has it’s branch in Bundung, has over 2400 followers in the country. The donation is part of the church’s humanitarian mission towards saving lifes.

Presenting the machines on behalf of the church, Jens Lindemann, Vice President of the church said, the donation is meant to improve the standard of the hospital in other to save lives. According to him, the gesture is part of their humanitarian mission to save the soul of mankind. He then called on the hospital management to partner with them to continue to work towards the well-being of mankind.

Momodou Jallow, senior nursing officer, RVTH, who spoke on the significance of the machine said, the importance of the machines which cost several thousand Euros cannot be over emphasized. He explained that the life saving machine is capable of keeping somebody in a coma and breathing difficultly alive, adding that, its component can even be useful without electricity.

Receiving the machines, Baboucarr Ngum, public relation officer at the RVTH, thanked the New Apostolic Church for providing the hospital with such high standard life saving machines, adding that it will go a long in raising the standards of the hospital.

According to him, this is not the first time that the New Apostolic Church is donating to the RVTH and assured them that the machines will be put into good use.

Gabou Sylva, administrative supervisor of RVTH, Abdoulie Danso, chief security RVTH, Josephine Correa, hospital administration, Huja Jah, development officer, Amadou Jallow, senior nursery officer attended the ceremony.

Henrieg Mbayo, the secretary general of The Gambia branch Tony Ennin, first secretary to the new church in The Gambia and Apostre Gomis, from Ziguinchor in the Senegalese southern region, led the Apostolic Church German delegation to the RVTH.
