Deloitte  Gambia on Monday donated food items estimated to  over D50,000.00 and a fuel coupon of D20,000.00 to St Johns’s School for the Deaf, at a presentation ceremony held at the school ground.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Fanny Wright, Secretary at Deloitte, said that Deloitte is an accounting and consulting firm that has branches in many countries in the world. According to her, as they celebrate their 10 years anniversary, they pondered on “who” to extend a friendship, noting their heart unanimously went to St John’s School. According to her,  they thought and decided that it would be joyful to establish friendship with St John’s for the Deaf.

“We pray that God Almighty, the Greatest Healer, will grant you speediest return to full health.  We at Deloitte always remember you in our prayers, and it is in this vein that we decided to join you as we celebrate 10 years of existence in the Gambia” she said.

She also seized the opportunity to extend the appreciation of the management and staff of Deloite to St John School for granting them this privileged honour. ‘‘We are indeed thrilled to be in midst today,’’ she hinted.

For his part, Mr Daniel Mendy, Principal of St John’s School, expressed happiness and delight for the gesture. On behalf of the parents and the entire management, staff and pupils of the school, he thanked Deloitte for making such a gesture of support and  expressed hope that this will not be the end.

In a similar development, Deloitte Gambia also donated to Campama Pshycatric Unit in Banjul. The donated items included, A4 papers, gallons of oil, luncheon meats, bags of rice, exercise books, dozens of soap, bags of omos, pencils, baked beans, sugar, milk, tomato paste and sardines.
