A suspected murderer on the run - Dawda Bah, alias Yanka - who reportedly killed a fellow youngster, Cherno Jagne, fondly called Cher Boy, was arrested, yesterday, at Wellingara Village.

The incident was reported to have happened around Samjack Perseverance junction, between 12:00 am to 01:00 am, in the wee hours of Sunday in Banjul.

Sources informed the Daily Observer that the suspect allegedly stabbed the deceased with a broken bottle in the neck, leading to excessive bleeding, which resulted to his death.

The body of the late Cherno Jagne was said to have been taken to the Macdonald Street neighbourhood, where sources said the suspect passed through while he was on the run.

The police were contacted and the remains of the late Cherno was later taken to the RVTH by personnel of the Gambia Police Force.

When contacted, the acting crime management coordinator of the Gambia Police Force, Yankuba Sonko, confirmed that the police investigations are in progress.
