Tuesday, October 28, 2008

Officers at the Bansang Immigration post last Sunday harvested their three plots of Nerica rice at Bansang in Upper Fulladu District, Central River Region south.

The harvesting was jointly conducted by sister security services and the community of Bansang.

Speaking during the harvesting process, Spt Ebrima Mboob, the commissioner of Immigration noted that his officers have shown great interest in restoring food self sufficiency.  According to him, the only solution to the global food crises is to respond to President Jammeh’s back to the land call and people to venture into farming activities.

He saluted Governor Alhagie Ganyie Touray of Central River Region for providing them with fertilizer which resulted to a bumper harvest.  He further thanked the Police Officer and Fire Service Unit for their support and applauded the cordial relations between the various security service units in the region.

For his part, RSM Borry Sanyang, reiterated at length the smooth relationship existing between the police and the community which according to him, is in line with the Community Policing policy now in place in the country. He thanked the community of Upper Fulladu for assisting them in harvesting their farm.
