The long-awaited football final at Essau village, North Bank Division, will be played on Sunday, January 7, at the Essau playing ground. The mouth-watery final is between the Gunners Football Cub of Essau and the Lions Football Cub of Kanuma village.

Organised by the Barra-Essau-Kanuma Sports Committee, the tripartite tournament gather twelve teams from the three villages, namely Barra, Essau and Kanuma.

Bakary Baldeh, commonly known as BB, a member of the organising committee has called on all the sports enthusiastic in the area to come out and cheer up the teams.

“We are looking forward to hosting one of the most successful finals in the history of our sports committee and both teams have shown their readiness to the clinch the coveted title,” BB said.
