The National Youth Association for Food Security, Nayafs, recently organized a one-day forum on policy and budget analysis.
The objective of the workshop, held at the Baobab Resort in Bijilo, was to sensitize participants on the way forward for the attainment of some of the targets set in the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).
Speaking at the one-day forum, the deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Hon. Abdoulie Bojang, stressed that budget is a key national issue and, as such, the National Assembly will continue to cross-collaborate with civil society bodies to ensure the basic needs of the grassroots are streamlined in the national budget.
Mr. Omar Jobe of Pro-poor Advocacy was positively impressed with the method participants had applied to the national budget process, in a way that offers the opportunity for all and sundry to take interest in scrutinizing the budget.
Similar sentiments were expressed by Mr Alhaji Kebbeh, Director of Nayafs.
