Advocacy Campaign on MDGs, PRSP, Awareness Ends

The Pro-Poor Advocacy Group (Pro-PAG) in conjunction with its partner institutions recently held a two-day workshop on Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and Poverty Reduction Strategy Papers (PRSP) advocacy strategy and dissemination campaign at the Baobab Holiday Resort.

The workshop which was geared towards promoting the understanding and the use of the PRSP and MDGs in development planning at both national and local levels for poverty reduction in The Gambia drawn participants from all walks of life.

Speaking at the closing ceremony of the workshop, Mrs. Adelaide Sosseh emphasised the importance of the meeting, urging participants to share the knowledge gathered at the meeting with the greater public.

“The advocacy, awareness campaign and dissemination strategy will lead to information sharing and the empowerment of citizens to be better poised to participate in development process,” she added.
