The Chief of Kombo Central, Dembo Santang Bojang, is currently embroiled in a legal tussle with one of his cousins.
Dembo Santang Bojang is apparently aggrieved that Jerreh Kulang Bojang had ‘lacerated’ his cow and the chief is now seeking redress through the Brikama Magistrates’ Court in Western Region.
According to the Kombo Central chief, it was in August of this year that he received information from the Cattle Dealers Association that his cow was lacerated by Jerreh Kulang Bojang.
“Upon receiving the information, I rushed to the Brikama police station to lodge a complaint. At the station, I informed the police that the accused had located his garden on a path used by cattle and attempts to impress on him to relocate were all frustrated,” he recounted.
Mr. Bojang informed the court that he was approached, on many occasions, to withdraw the case but had insisted that he would only do so if Jerreh Kulang vacates.
The case, presided over by magistrate John Njie, resumes October 23.
