The Association of Foni Area Councilors (AFAC) last Saturday presented bed sheets, buckets and cups to Sintate Clinic, Sulayman Honking Hospital in Bwiam, Somita Clinic and Kasanyi Clinic, respectively.
The ceremony was held at the Somita Clinic premises, Foni Brefet.
Speaking during the presentation ceremony, Bintanding Jarju, National Assembly Member for Foni Brefet urged the people of Foni to ‘strengthen the unity between them, as unity is the power to everything’. She added that they are all aiming for the development of the country and without unity it will be very difficult to be achieved.
She lauded the councilors for the donation, adding that it is a clear manifestation of the love they have for their people, manifesting their concerns about the plight of the people in Foni.
For his part, Tete Sambou, Chairperson of the Association, said the rationale behind the formation of the association, is to enable them to work together for the development of Foni and it surrounding villages.
According to him, the donation is just the beginning, as the people of Foni will benefit more from the association, if they continue to give them their support.
Sunkary Babjie, Vice-Chairperson of Brikama Area Council, who also doubles as the PRO of the Association also affirmed their commitment to develop Foni, especially the health sector.
He urged the people of Foni to continue giving them their support and to ensure that the interest of Foni people remains high in their agendas.
