The qualifiers for the 2007 Brikama Nawettan ended last week with four teams booking their place in the Nawettan proper due to kick off next month.

They are Amasa FC, Beri- Beri FC, Campeh-Bi FC, and Shell Marketing.

In the final matches played at the Brikama Mini Stadium better known as Box Bar, Amasa FC, a team named after Gambia’s top Businessman, Amadou Samba, booked their ticket to the Nawettan proper after beating Jamisa FC 1-0 and on Wednesday Beri- Beri FC also made it to the nawettan competition following their 5-4 victory over Sanchaba United on post- penalty kicks.

On Thursday Campeh-Bi defeated Kassa Kunda 2-1 to book their ticket to the main championship whilst Shell Marketing also beat Manduar 1-0 to advance to the 2007 Nawettan championship.

It could be recalled that Amasa FC is making their second appearance in the Nawettan proper.

Some three years back Amasa FC qualified to the Nawettan Championship but was banned the same year for bringing violence in the beautiful game of Football.
