Mamour Gaye, the Mayor of Grand Yoff municipality in Senegal, and three other officials of the municipality are currently on a three-day working visit to the Brikama Area Council (BAC).
The Mayor and his delegation comprises of Momodou Jobe, Director Administration and Finance, Momodou Bah Chief Executive Officer (CEO), and Samba Njie.
According to the Public Relations Officer of Brikama Area Council Serign Modou Joof, the main purpose of the visit was to revisit their agreement on protocols which was done in 2004, which he said includes peace, law and order, environment and sanitation, culture and tradition, mutual assistance and exchange visits.
He also told the Daily Observer that the two municipalities here selected a steering committee comprising three officials from each municipality who were tasked with implementing the said protocols.
He described the visit as laudable saying it will consolidate the cordial relationship between the two municipalities and the two countries at large.
According to him, a delegation from Brikama Area Council is also expected to pay a similar visit to Grand Yoff municipality in Senegal for the official signing of the protocols.
The delegation leaves for Senegal today.
