Mr Ampro Koroma, principal of Mahad Senior Secondary School in Brikama, Western Region, has praised the Gambian leader, President Alhaji Dr Yahya Jammeh, for his donation of D20,000 to the school, a gesture the Gambian leader extended during his recently concluded dialogue with the people tour.

In an interview with the Daily Observer, shortly after a school party, held in their premises, in Jamisa, last Saturday, Mr Koroma expressed gratitude and appreciation for President Jammeh. According to him, the donation was a manifestation of the Gambian leader’s willingess to boost education. In an apparent attempt to justify the social gathering, the principal cited a traditional maxim:  “all work, no play makes Lamin a dull student.”

Mr Koroma went on: “if you help to educate a person, you give the person the potential to develop themself.” While stressing that education was one of the most valuable asset a child needed for their future prosperity, he called on his students to rally behind President Jammeh.

The vice principal of the school, Lamin Drammeh, echoed his boss by thanking the Gambian head of state, describing him as a good leader. He also hailed the staff and students of the school for their effort in ensuring the successful organization of the party.

The Head Boy and Head Girl of the school, Lamin E Jaiteh and Tida Janneh  respectively, reserved similar praises for the Gambian leader. They ceased the opportunity to advice their colleagues to strive hard in order to pass their exams “with aflying colours.”
