One Alasan Bojang and Hadim Ndur were yesterday convicted by the Brikama Magistrates Court, presided over by Magistrate Pa Harry Jammeh, and sentenced to a three-month jail term.
The duo were charged with and found guilty of stealing two rams belonging to President Jammeh in Kanilai, valued at D7000. In his judgement, Magistrate Pa Harry Jammeh said “it is a custom in the village for people to leave their cattle to graze till in the evening, but you want to kill that old tradition.”
The court subsequently sentenced them to 3 months imprisonment without an option of a fine. The IGP was represented by Cadet Inspector Samateh.
