Police officers’ kidnapping case deferred

The ongoing criminal case against Omar Jarjusey and Karamo Saidy, both personnel of the Gambia Police Force, who were accused of kidnapping one John at the Elephant Guest House in Brufut was on Tuesday November 6, 2007, adjourned to December 20, 2007, by Senior Magistrate Buba Jawo of the Bundung Magistrates’ Court.

The case was adjourned as the accused and their counsel were absent. Police Prosecutor, Sergeant 772 Samateh informed the court that he spoke to the defence counsel, Lamin Kamara on the  phone  to remind him about the resumption of the case on Tuesday but Lawyer Camara told him that he was not prepared to proceed as he thought the case was  to come on Monday instead of Tuesday.

The accused persons, Omar Jarjusey and Karamo Saidy, told the court that they would prefer the matter to proceed but Presidering Magistrate Buba Jawo adjourned the case to December 20.
