UNICEF on child survival

United Nation International Children Emergency Fund (UNICEF) on Wednesday held a techical meeting at the Sheraton Hotel in Brufut. The meeting attracted participants from various sectors of society to provide inputs to produce a national call to action on child survival.

The report of the meeting on child survival will also encourage governments to invest in the health of children and mothers.

Wednesday’s conference was marked by presentations from various stakeholders in diverse areas such as the State of the World’s Children Report 2008 at global, regional, national, the challenges and progresses made in the area of child survival among others.

Other presenters included Mathew Baldeh of UNICEF who dilated on the State of the World’s Children Report 2008 and child survival, Fanta Jatta Sowe, presented on the challenges and progress made in the areas of child survival and Pa Ousman Manneh of UNICEF presented the five guide wins for children.

Malang Fofana of Nana chaired the meeting.
