Yusupha Manneh, a youth was on Tuesday granted bail in the sum of D30,000 with a Gambian surety, by Magistrate Buba Jawo of the Bundung Magistrates’ Court, after pleading not guilty of assault charge, causing actual bodily harm. 

According to the particulars of offence, Yusupha Manneh, on 12 September 2007, at Tallinding in the Kanifing Municipality, unlawfully assaulted one Kalilo Saho, by stabbing him with a broken bottle on his back, thereby causing him actual bodily harm. 

When the charge sheet was read to him, he however pleaded not guilty, saying he was robbed of a mobile phone, with D500 and was trying to defend himself to save his life.

At that juncture, Police Prosecutor Corporal 510 Touray, applied for an adjournment to bring his witness. 

Magistrate Jawo granted the application and adjourned the case to October 31, for hearing.
