Kalilou Konteh, who was accused of murdering the late Fatoumata Camara, was, on Tuesday, remanded at the State Central Prison by Senior Magistrate Kumba Sillah-Camara.
The case, which was scheduled to resume at the Bundung Magistrates Court, could not proceed due to the absence of the defence counsel, Mary Samba Christensen.
According to the prosecution, the incident took place on 22 April, 2007, at Sukuta Nema in the Kombo North, Western Region, when Kalilou Konteh allegedly hit the late Fatoumata Camara with a pestle, which resulted to her death.
In her ruling, Senior Magistrate Sillah-Camara remanded the accused until the next adjourned date, when his counsel will be present in court. She then adjourned the case to Wednesday, January 16, for continuation. Sergeant 772 Samateh represented the IGP in the trial.
