Marabout in court

One Alpha Bah, an alleged marabout was recently arraigned before Senior Magistrate Abdoulie Mbacke of the Kanifing Magistrates Court charged with stealing and escaping from lawful custody contrary to the laws of The Gambia.

On the first count, Alpha Bah, on October 19, at the Serrekunda suburb of Churchill’s Town, snatched a bag containing a camera, mobile phone, D11,035, CFA 30,000 and two kola nuts from one Fatoumatta Bintou Barry.
 
On count two, Mr Bah, on November 13, at Kairaba Police Station escaped from lawful custody while under detention.

When the charges were read to him, he pleaded not guilty. Senior Magistrate Abdoulie Mbacke then adjourned the case for hearing.
