Call for Humanitarian Assistance

Wednesday, February 6, 2008

Momodou Lamin Sanneh 33 years and resident of Bundung, Serrekunda in The republic of The Gambia West Africa , is appealing for a humanitarian assistance financially in order to address his urgent medical problems by traveling to the United Kingdom for treatment. He drops from primary school because of this illness. The unfortunate pain is still with him with no medical solutions yet.

Sanneh has been suffering from serial chronic lymphadenitis since 1987. This was diagnosed at the Royal Victoria teaching hospital (RVTH) and has left his leg very swollen. He underwent surgery in 1994, in an effort to treat the decease, but the surgery was largely unsuccessful.

According to a confidential medical report from the Royal Victoria Teaching Hospital RVTH he has been having ulcerations since his fist operation and his leg is still chronically elephantoid, tender and hard.

Sanneh’s current infection from the unclear is complicated by a groin lymph node swelling and all the medical treatment at the RVTH is not showing any improvement on his health as the leg seriously pain at night.

The medical report from the RVTH signed on 14 th November 1998, by Dr. Alieu G. Gaye, Director of Medical Services at that time, states that Mr. Sanneh, “may benefit from further investigations such as lymphangiography or lymphangiography. Unfortunately these treatments and procedures are unavailable in the Gambia so it has become necessary for him to leave the country for additional medical attention”.

According to a letter from Sandy Ellis, Nurse Consultant Lymhoedma, St Georges Hospital Blackshaw Road London , on 23 rd November 2006, discussed the possibility of treating Sanneh privately in London and the treatment was going to be possible at the hospital, but finance was Sanneh’s problem.

Sanneh is seeking humanitarian assistance both financially or in kind for his treatment in the UK . He asks everyone, particularly the President, Dr. Yaya A.J.J.Jammeh, NGO’s embassies or any other individuals to come to his aid and assist him in obtaining overseas medical treatment. It is clear that the young Momodou Lamin Sanneh is bitterly suffering.

Mr. Sanneh can be reach on the following numbers; 7063540, 6825342, 6580281, and email: bohointernational@yahoo.com .

Please contact him if you can be of any assistance.
