The Brikama Magistrates’ Court had handed down its judgement in the trial of an Ebo Town resident over drug charges.
Baboucarr King knew his fate last Thursday when the magistrates’ court pronounced him guilty of violating the drug laws of the land.
Shortly before judgement was delivered in his trial, the court was informed that Baboucarr was arrested sometime this year by some members of the Gambia’s drug enforcement agency in the Serekunda suburb of Tallinding and, in possession of 360g of cannabis sativa.
In his judgement, magistrate Edrissa Mbai convicted and sentenced him to pay a fine of D250,000 or serve three years in prisons.
