Tuesday, December 11, 2007
Adama Sonko, a Gambian based in United Kingdom, has recently donated valuable sporting equipment to Essau football academy in North Bank Region. The donated items include football kits, socks, footballs, training gears for coaches among other equipment.
According to the donor, Adama Jallow, who serves as a youth coach with a UK-based football academy, Warwick Academy, the items were secured from his youth team in UK as part of their effort to reach out to other centres in Gambia. He said the presentation of the materials marked the beginning of a cordial partnership between the two academies, noting that come next, the two centres, who share the same objectives - (to develop young talents), may engage in an exchange visit programme for the good of both sides.
While thanking his academy for providing the gears, Sonko also urged the joyous beneficiaries to make good use of the items.
