A Fajara resident, Doudou Manneh, was last week remanded on bail in the sum of D800,000 with two Gambians, who must meet the bail conditions, as sureties. Manneh was also warned to refrain from any activity that would jeopardise investigations into a criminal charge pressed against him.
According to the particulars of offence, Manneh was given a suitcase containing 133kg of gold which, he was said to have refused to declare at the Banjul International Airport, resulting to it’s disappearance.
The gold dust, valued at US$1,596,000, was the property of one Mr Famara Manneh.
