Magistrate EF Mbaye of the Brikama Magistrates’ Court recently convicted and sentenced one Kemo Camara, a driver in Gunjur village in Kombo South, to a fine of D2000, in default to serve two years imprisonment, after finding him guilty on two counts charges of traffic violations.
Count one states that, the accused on 10 April 2007, drove a motor vehicle without a valid driving license, contrary to the Motor traffic Act of The Gambia.
On count two, Kemo Camara on the same day drove the same motor vehicle without a valid insurance.
When the chargsheet was read to him, he pleaded guilty to the two counts charges.
In his testimony earlier on, Mr. Camara told the court that he has just bought the vehicle and was on the process of documentation.
