A blood-chilling machine valued at thousands of dalasis, was recently presented to the Illiassa Health Centre by the Managing Director of CMI Trading UK Limited, Mr. Steve Gotting, through his West African agent based in The Gambia, Mr. Bakary Jammeh.
This gesture is in response to Mr. Gotting’s pledge last year that he would provide the machine for them. This is his second gift to the centre within a year.
The machine was handed over by Mr. Bakary Jammeh to a member of the Council of Elders of the area, Alhaji Momodu Mbake Jammeh.
Receiving the machine, Pa Jammeh thanked Mr. Gotting for the gift and for honoring his pledge.
Mr. Lamin Jammeh, NAM for the area appreciated the gesture and called on members of staff to handle the equipment carefully.
According to Mr. Bakary Jammeh, Mr. Gotting is no stranger to The Gambia, as he has a branch of his company in our Sub-region.
He said Mr. Gotting was impressed with the improvements made in the health sector (as his wife is a Nursing Sister in the UK), and as a result he made a pledge that he would assist in any way possible to help supplement the efforts of government.
Mr. Jammeh revealed that a three-phase generator to provide electricity for the Health Centre is on its way.
