Comium, a GSM service provider, on Tuesday, presented fabulous prizes to 39 lucky winners.
The prizes included a brand new four-wheel drive car which was presented to one Ebrima Njie, a resident of Kotu Silo.
Other prizes that included D25,000, D5,000, Nokia phones, fans, MP3 players, bicycles and a lot more, were presented to other lucky winners.
Haruna Drammeh, media consultant at Comium said that when others were aware that Comium was coming, that was the time sim cards and scratch cards were reduced.
He added that Comium came into existence with a difference by providing the new GPRS service for the first time in The Gambia.
“Some places in the country don’t have electricity or internet cafes but now what you need is only your mobile phone with your Comium sim card to access the internet. Comium spent only one year in the country and has now penetrated the whole market,” he said.
Mr Drammeh then confirmed that Comium is transparent and would not hide anything and added that they have a lot for their customers.
Presenting the four wheel car to Mr Njie, Samer Nehaidly, commercial director of Comium said that his company is here to make Gambian people enjoy and experience a lot. He said that more and more prizes are on the way for Gambians. “We lead and others follows. With you patronage, we will always lead and take the Gambia to higher heights” he said promising to take the Gambia first in GPRS.
For his part, Ebrima Njie who received the car, thanked Comium for the gesture. He then clarified: “My daughter won the car but she travelled to the UK. But before she left for the UK, she gave me her Comium sim card and I normally recharge it and make calls abroad. So when I called her to inform her about this car, she told me to give it to her mother,” he explained. He added: ‘with my comium card, I can make international calls without any interruption and at a cheaper rate than any other GSM service provider’ .
