Plans are underway to get a Police Station for Kanfenda village in Foni Kansala District of the Western Region, according to the Secretary of State for Interior, Ousman Sonko.

SoS Sonko made this remark last Tuesday at the National Assembly in response to a question posed by Ebrima Jammeh, Member for Foni Bintang Karanai on what his Department of State is doing to strengthen the security situations in the border villages of Foni Bintang.

According to SoS Sonko, The Gambia Police Force has extended the capacity of Kalagi Police Station both in terms of infrastructure and human resources in a bid to intensify the border security. He equally added that the strength of Sibanor and Bullock has been increased to meet this objective.

“The Police have been working in collaboration with other security services in a drive to provide security service to the border and its inhabitants,” he added.
