Wednesday, October 24, 2007

A Senegalese national, Baba Jobe, was recently issued an absconding debtor’s warrant as his relationship with his business associate grew sour.

Jobe was dragged to the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court by one Malick Ceesay for restitution of D61, 973.

According to Ceesay, he was involved in a business transaction with Jobe in which he used to give him goods on on-the-spot payment as well as on credit basis. He explained that his relationship with Jobe turned out to be a betrayal as Jobe denied ever owing him the aforementioned money.

“Suspecting that he wanted to abscond, I filed a case against him for his arrest and for him to provide a security in the sum of D61, 973,” narrated Ceesay.

Meanwhile, Jobe had secured a surety as security and the case, chaired by magistrate Abdoulie Mbackeh, continues.
