12 Years for Traffic Act Violator

Principal magistrate Moses Richards of Kanifing Magistrates’ Court has convicted and sentenced one Yaya Barry to serve a 12-year jail term following his plea of guilty to violating sections 51(1) and 36 of the Motor Traffic Act.

Barry was sentenced to spend six months in gaol for driving a motor vehicle without valid license and could also serve another six months in jail for causing a road accident.

He would serve the sentences at Janjanbureh Prison in the Central River Region of The Gambia.
