Principal Magistrate Moses Richards of the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court, yesterday granted bail to Sergeant Omar Jaharteh, a Police Prosecutor and Ensa Keita, also a Police Officer to the sum of D10,000 each, with a Gambian   surety.

The two Police Officers were charged for aiding in the escape of convicted prisoners, on or about 2 October, 2007.

When the charge sheet was read to them, both the accused persons pleaded not guilty.

The presiding Magistrate then adjourned the case to Monday and Wednesday, next week for continuation.

ASP Momodou Bojang, Officer Commanding Police Prosecution, represented the IGP in the trial, while Counsel Lamin K Mboge, represented the   accused persons.
