In NIA diamond case Former Magistrate’s proceedings to be adopted

Lawyer Lamin Jobarteh, one of the Defence Counsels in the ongoing NIA diamond case, last Thursday, told the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court, presided over by Principal Magistrate Moses Richards, that the other Counsel in the case should adopt the former Magistrate’s proceedings.

The State Counsel, U’maru conceded to Counsel Jobarteh’s suggestion and as a result, Magistrate Moses Richards adjourned the case for the Counsel to adopt his predecessor’s proceedings. The six accused NIA were charged with theft, abuse of office and criminal trespass.

They are, Lamin Drammeh, Basiru Jabang, Kajali Jawara, Lamin Sanneh, Fabakary Drammeh and Salmina Drammeh.
The case continues on 27th and 28th June, 2007.
