Lamin Coker, Security Manager at the Africell Cellular Company Limited, on Tuesday testified in the on-going alleged Africell theft case involving Sanna Darboe, of Wassu village, before Principal Magistrate Moses Richards of the Kanifing Magistrates’ Courts.

In his testimony, Mr. Coker told the court that while he was at work in his office at Africell on 2nd May, 2007, the accused Sanna Darboe came to his office and asked for the Marketing Manager, Mr. Mahamadou Papa Leigh. He said he went to Mr. Leigh’s office and informed him that the accused, Mr. Darboe, wants to see him, to which Mr. Leigh consented.

Mr. Coker added that he referred the accused to the reception at the second floor of the Africell offices. He then explained that he later received a call from one of his colleagues that he caught someone stealing at Mr. Liegh’s office.

He further testified that he rushed to Mr. Leigh’s office, where he found the accused. According to him, he then conducted a search on the accused and discovered a laptop with him. “I later arrested the accused and took him to Serrekunda Police Station, where he made a statement,” he told the court.
