Dodou Kassa & Co to open defence

Magistrate Abdoulie Mbacke of the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court on Monday adjourned the criminal case involving one Dodou Kassa Jatta and his co- accused persons to October 1st 2007, for them to open their defence. Magistrate Mbacke made this verdict, following an application made by Lamin S Camara, Counsel for the defendants to give him the opportunity to prepare for their defence. Despite the objection made by 870 Touray, the Prosecution Officer, presiding Magistrate granted the application.

It could be recalled that Dodou Kassa and Co, are standing trial for the offence of obstructing  a Police Officer, while in the due execution of his duties and acting in a manner that’s likely to breach the peace, contrary to the Criminal Code, Laws of The Gambia.
