Fake euro dealer refused bail

Monday, October 27, 2008
One Tijan Hamson, a foreign national charged with the possession of 300 fake euros notes, was on Tuesday sent to Mile Two by the Kanifing Magistrates Court presided over by Senior Magistrate Sainabou Wadda–Ceesay.

According to the particulars of the offence, Tijan Hamson was in August, 2008, found in possession of 300 euros worth of fake notes. The incident occurred in Serekunda, KMC.

When the charge sheet was read to him, Tijan Hamson pleaded not guilty.

The police prosecutor, ASP Bajang, applied for the accused to be refused bail.  He argued that Tijan Hamson was likely to jump bail since he is a foreigner.

Magistrate Sainabou Wadda-Ceesay granted the application and ordered that Tijan Hamson be remanded at the State Central Prison.

The case was adjourned to October 29.
