D100,000 bail for visa fraudsters

Abdoulie Bitaye and Serign Malick Ceesay, alleged visa fraudsters, were on Monday granted bail in the sum of D100,000 with a Gambian surety by Principal Magistrate Buba Jawo of the Kanifing magistrates court.

The duo are facing trial for allegedly obtaining D84,000 by false pretence in January this year, from one Lamin Gasama under the pretext that they were going to secure him a British, a deal which never was.

The accused persons pleaded not guilty to the charge against them.
