Mr Chime, the defence counsel of six ex-NIA operatives, has called for the court to dismiss or strike out the case.
According to him, the court should either dismiss or strike out the charges preferred against his clients or allow the continuation of the proceedings, following the prolonged procrastination of the case by the prosecution.
Mr Chime made these remarks yesterday whilst submitting his application before the Kanifing Magistrates Court, presided over by the principal magistrate, Buba Jawo.
Lawyer Chime argued that the prosecution has been given enough time to prove their case for about three months and they have not appeared in court.
It could be recalled that Lamin Drammeh and his five co-accused are standing trial, on conspiracy to commit felony, stealing, criminal trespass and abuse of office.
They are alleged to have taken from two German nationals 8 pieces of diamond, US$206,000, a Nokia phone, D1,100 and a sewing machine, in 2002.
The case resumes on the 8th october, 2008.
