Two Cameroonian nationals, Muhamad Kuruma and Tony Emeli, were, on Monday, arraigned before Senior Magistrate Abdoulie Mbake of the Kanifing Magistrates Court on a charge of obtaining money by false pretense.
In his evidence in chief, Kalifa Fatty, the plaintiff, told the court that Muhamad Kuruma, the first defendant, took 1,300 euros from him promising to take him to Cyprus, in Europe. He further adduced that the defendant had also told him that he had already bought an air ticket to Cyprus for him, something he latter found out to be untrue.
Mr Fatty further told the court that on arrival at the Dakar International Airport with the two defendants, it was proven that his vaccination certificate was false.
The case was then adjourned to October 6th 2008, for continuation.
