Wednesday, January 28, 2009
One Abdoulie Barry on Wednesday appeared before Magistrate Sagarr Jahateh of the Kanifing Magistrates Court seeking D45,000 from one Kajali Sanyang. The money was said to have been given to the defendent for the purchase of a vehicle.

Kajali Sanyang has denied liability. In his testimony as a prosecution witness, one Ousman Mbalo, who is said to be a businessman, told the court that the defendent (Kajali Sanyang) had told Abdoulie Barry that his boss - a certain Sainabou, who is abroad - could provide him with a 7-passenger vehicle but on the condition that he pay D45,000 as a deposit before the arrival of the vehicle at the sea port in Banjul.

He added that Abdoulie Barry agreed to pay the said amount but the vehicle never arrived. The case was adjourned to 10th February 2009 for the defendant to open his defense.
