Observer Company alleged pilferers charged -four pleaded guilty, one not guilty

Five employees of the Observer Company, Gambia Ltd- Kajally Mass, Alieu Demba, Sulayman Sowe, Lamin Bojang and Destiny Omos, were last Friday, arraigned before Magistrate Sainabou Wadda-Ceesay of the Kanifing Magistrate court, charged with stealing.

According to the particulars of the offence, the accused persons, on the 23rd February 2009, jointly stole 200 copies of newspapers which lawfully belong to Daily Observer. When the charge sheet was read to them, they all pleaded guilty except Destiny Omos.

The presiding magistrate at that juncture, granted them bail in the sum of D10,000 each, with two Gambian sureties. The case was adjourned to Monday March 2, 2009. Cadet Inspector Mballow stood in for the IGP.
