Mr Aziz Tamba and two other Kanilai Farm employees, Famara Colley and Mustapha Bojang, are said to be about to be arraigned for new charges of conspiracy to commit felony and theft. Mr Tamba was earlier on convicted for possession of firearms and sentenced to eight years imprisonment.
In the first count under the accused persons are charged with conspiracy to commit felony. The particulars of offence state that Famara Colley, Mustapha Bojang and Aziz Tamba on 17 June 2005 and 23 August 2005 in diverse places conspired to commit a felony.
Count two is about stealing by clerk or servant. The particulars of offence reads that Famara Colley, Mustapha Bojang and Aziz Tamba, between 2005 and 2006 at Kanilai Farm and in diverse places jointly stole D19, 589,779.34 bututs, being employees of the said Kanilai farm.
Entering their plea, the 1st and 2nd accused, persons pleaded not guilty, while Aziz Tamba put it differently by stating that he knew nothing about the charges.
The Presiding Magistrate, Pa Harry Jammeh of the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court, ordered that the accused persons be remanded in custody pending their trial, while emphasising their right to secure the services of a lawyer.
The case was at that point adjourned to 7th February, 2007.
