Global Energy MD Discharged

Barely a year into his trial over allegation of stealing three generators from the Kanilai Family Farms, the managing director of Global Energy was yesterday acquitted and discharged by the Brikama Magistrates’ Court chaired by E.F.Mbai.

Mr. Milko Berben was sometime last year charged with stealing three generators from Kanilai and Buyine villages in Foni Kansala and the generators were valued at D1, 665,000.

But on the resumption of the case yesterday, Chief Superintendent of Police Burama Dibba, invoked section 68, sub-section 1 of the Criminal Procedure Code, Laws of The Gambia, to withdraw the charge against Mr. Berben.

Following CSP Dibba’s application, magistrate Mbai resultantly acquitted and discharged Berben of the charge of stealing the three generators.
