Real de Banjul holds a slim advantage over their three rivals and a win against the embattled Bakau United at the Independence Stadium on Sunday would guarantee the Banjul giants their first league title in more than a decade.
Gambia Ports Authority, who are currently trailing Real de Banjul by a lone point, and Wallidan, who are two points behind the arch-rival, are likely to have a say in what could be one of the greatest league crescendos in history of GFA First Division league season.
The defending champions, Gambia Ports Authority, will meet fellow title contenders, Gamtel, whilst Wallidan - who must win to have any chance of clinching the title since 2004, host Gambia Armed Forces at Serrekunda West Mini-stadium.
With all eyes on the title race, attention will be also on the opposite side where others will be toiling in tooth-and-tail to avoid demotion to the second division.
The Bakau Four- Sea View, Steve Biko, Bakau United and Africell/Sait Matty, all have their fate lying in their own hands.
Sea View will meet Steve Biko at Box Bar Mini-stadium in Brikama with both side needing the maximum to points to resurrect hope. And Bakau United will hope their fixture against the title contenders, Real de Banjul, will not prove too big an obstacle to crack. Africell/Sait Matty, who have a slim advantage over fellow strugglers, will meet Hawks and a win will undisputedly see the Africell sponsored side avoid their second relegation in two seasons, irrespective of the outcome of other fixtures.
