Following a relationship built between Kerr Mama Sports Association and the Washington State Sport Association, a consignment of 110 quality footballs was recently received by the Kerr Mama Sports Association.
The partnership came through the intermediary role of Baboucarr Jallow, a former Gambian FIFA referee who is now refereeing in the United States, and was built on a mutual basis.
According to the Kerr Mama Sports Association, the consignment of 110 balls, will be distributed in the entire Upper Nuimi District including 53 villages, schools in the district and the district team.
The Washington State Sport Association will continue supporting Kerr Mama in terms of sporting materials mainly football items. In return Kerr Mama will have to utilize the materials properly.
“The relationship will be further strengthened through cultural exchange programmes during which the two sister associations will learn from each other in terms of both Sports and Culture,” explained the Kerr Mama Sports Committee.
They commended Baboucarr Jallow for his special interest in the District adding that his efforts and continued support to Upper Nuimi have given them a big leap.
“Sincere appreciation goes to Timothy Brusch president of Washington State Sport Association and the entire membership for being positive in helping to champion the course and direction of this relationship,”
The Department of State for Youths and Sports was also applauded for making it easy for them to obtain the balls through a duty waiver. The Honourable Cherno Omar Jallow National Assembly Member of the area was also thanked.
