Kara Nyining CCF Programme Area (KNPA) in Kombo East, last Thursday sensitised community members, VDCs, Alkalolu, women, youths and children and Kaira Nyining members of staff on the concepts, objectives, process and principles of Bright Future initiative, at Kuloro village, in Kombo East.

Brighter Future is the new CCF programme approach to be piloted at Kaira Nyining Programme Area, Kombo East, by March 2008.

As part of the acton plan for the successful implementation of the Bright Future initiative, community sensitisations were held in all the programme sites.

In his keynote statement, Federation Manager of Kaira Nyining Mr Ebrima Sanneh, urged the participants to embrace   Brighter Future initiative, with ownership approach.

Mr Omar Bun Njie, Programme Manager,   on behalf of   CCF’s Director - dwelled   on the objectives of Brighter Future initiative.  

According to him, the initiative was aimed at enhancing impact on children’s life, strengthening accountability, fortify sponsorship and to enhance civil society organisation into the federation.

Lamin Darboe, Coordinator of Kombo East Youth and Children Development Association (KEYCDA), urged the participants to involve youths and children in decision-making processes so that they can take ownership of their programmes and projects.   

Youths and Children, Darboe said, “will be represented in all clusters, community organisations and at federation’s board level, for accountability and transparency”.
