The Management and Staff of the Daily Observer, yesterday received with shock and dismay, the news of the death of one of the company’s driver, Ansumana Sanneh.
Soon after the news broke, bussiness in the office came to a standstill, for most of the staff could not, at that moment digest the news.
Ansumana, who was briefly sick, had a good working relationship with almost the entire staff of the company. All what we could immediately do was to pray for the Almighty Allah to grant him eternal peace, as God’s decision cannot be challenged by obedient human beings.
Dr Saja Taal, the Managing Director of the Observer Company in reacting to the news, said Ansumana’s death came as a shock to him. He described the deceased as a dedicated staff who served the Observer Company whole heartedly .”The entire Observer family will greatly miss him because of the cordial relationship he had with all. He is among the best staff of the company and showed total care for his family”, Dr Taal added.
He then extended his deep sorrow to the deceased family and prayed to the Almighty Allah to shower mercy on him.
For his part, Andrew Dacosta, Deputy Managing Director of the Observer Company, echoed Dr Taal’s remarks. According to him, the deceased was a man of unparalleled integrity who served the company with total dedication for six years. ”Being a driver, he ran errands for all in the company, irrespective of position. He admitted to mistakes whenever it happened to him and did not repeat such. Ansumana leaves a big vacuum that will be difficult to fill as he was really dedicated”, he lamented.
The late Ansumana, who hails from Foni in the Western Region, resided in Kotu with his family. He was laid to rest yesterday in Manduarr, Kombo Central, Western Region, where he died while receiving local treatment. The deceased is survived by two wives and children.
Ansumana is gone, but we at the Observer will always remember him for his good deeds.
