Ahmadiyya youths end three-day conference

A three-day Ahmadiyya youths conference ended recently at the Tahir Ahmadiyya Muslim Senior Secondary School in Mansakonko, Lower River Region. The event brought together Ahmadiyya youths from all over the country and beyond.

In his closing remarks, the Amir of the Ahamadiyya Muslim Jama’at in The Gambia, Maulana Baba F. Trawally, said that the Ark of the Ahamadiyya was able to sail successfully through the fierce storm of opposition because of the blessing of the Khalifa. He said the Khalifa is behind the unity and success of the Ahmadiyya Jama’at and called on the youths to continue to live righteously so that the Jama’at unity will be consolidated.

According to the spiritual leader of the Jama’at, unity must start from the grassroots level so as to re-enforce national unity.  He added that for the people to attain national unity, there must be love for the country and this could be manifested through hard work and dedication.

In his address, Momodou Soma Jobe, governor of the Lower River Region, said that the Ahmadiyya Jama’at in The Gambia is contributing immensely to the socio- economic development of The Gambia, notably in the areas of education and health.

Kemo Sonko urged the youths to keep on obeying the teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (S AW) for the realization of God, pointing out that a sincere heart for the Prophet makes a person beloved of God.

Over 500 people from the Gambia, Senegal and Guinea-Bissau attended the conference and it is the 24 national Ijtema (Youth Conference) of Majlis Khuddamul Ahmaddiya - The Gambia. Other spekers at the occasion included Ustass Syed Ul Hassan Shah, Tahir Ahmad Touray and Karamo Touray.
